Anthem of Grace: The Book of Romans

In Romans 1-11, Paul takes his readers on a journey as he lays out a theological vision that has a high view of God, a realistic view of humanity, and the beautiful hope found in the grace of the cross. After making his theological case, Paul concludes Romans in chapters 12-16, where he moves from orthodoxy (right belief) to orthopraxy (right living), showing us how the truths of Romans 1-11 should work themselves out practically in the life of every believer. Paul's intent is for us to take the gospel theology of Romans 1-11 and to see how the gospel motivates and frames the whole of our lives as believers. He wants us to be doers of the Word (James 1:22) and work out our salvation in fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12).
